It's Elementary

Greetings all. It's only a matter of weeks until we hit that season when the time-honored (at least since elementary school) question is posed -- What did you do over the summer? In order to help us keep in touch with each other even from the far-flung reaches of the universe (or at least planet Earth), I will start posting your "what I did this summer" essays with pictures. Just e-mail me a short blurb about what you've been doing and if possible include some pictures and I'll post them. So even if you can't make it out of town, you can at least take a vicarious mental vacation. Just e-mail your submissions to khannay@e-cler.com. I'll kick it off next week with with a report from the ranch.

The Three Tenors - Together Again!

My apologies to Bob Cook for the tardiness in posting his submission!

Several years ago Harold & Margaret Meyering (from the SBC Choir & Orchestra, respectively) moved to the Portland, OR area to be closer to family and to build a B & B. The B & B is nearly finished and 2 rooms are open for guests. So, over the Mother’s Day holiday two other former SBC Choir tenors, Jerry Musgrave & Bob Cook, and their wives went to Portland for a visit with Harold & Margaret. Here are photos from their visit. If you would like to see what’s going on with the Meyering’s at the Cornerstone B&B, log on to their web site:

My Brother Married a Beauty Queen

When I was growing up, the importance of beauty could be measured by looking at the heart. You never dress to draw attention to yourself. So we had a great time poking fun at the beauty pageants. It just seemed like a big show of outward appearances. But God can use anyone, in any situation, to accomplish His will.

Enter my brother, announcing to the family that his fiancee was Miss Idaho and they had met because she had a model and talent search company.

Shocking! My sister and I joked about writing a book called "My Brother Married a Beauty Queen" because it was SO far removed from our lives. My brother even told his fiancee that we didn't wear makeup and made our own clothes. I don't know what Amish farm he grew up on, it wasn't our house though.

Sheri Rose has had an amazing ministry in the last 20 plus years, to hurting women who have believed the lie that they are not beautiful. But to God, they are precious treasures. God has used her in a mighty way in that arena.

Last night on channel 15 (ABC) the Billy Graham Special aired, sorry I'm late. But it will air again on TBN. Click HERE for the schedule.
